Mahavatar Narsimha Collections Crosses ₹300 Cr Worldwide, Beats Big Films

The animated movie Mahavatar Narsimha is creating history at the box office. Made with a budget of only ₹40 crore, this film has turned into a massive hit and surprised everyone in the industry. Directed by Ashwin Kumar, who is making his debut, the movie was released with low expectations. But within five weeks, it has collected over ₹300 crore worldwide and continues to perform strongly.

By the 35th day, the movie had earned ₹238.25 crore net and ₹282.50 crore gross in India. Even in its fifth week, it made more than ₹18.50 crore, despite facing competition from big films like War 2 and Coolie. In overseas markets, the film collected over \$3 million, mainly from countries with a large Indian population. The worldwide collection is now close to ₹310 crore, making it the highest-grossing Indian animated film ever. The previous record holder, Rajinikanth’s Kochadaiiyaan, earned only ₹30 crore globally.

What makes this achievement even more special is that the film has earned more than some Hollywood animated movies in India. For example, Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse made ₹56 crore in India, while Mahavatar Narsimha went far beyond that.

The movie has even beaten big live-action hits. With ₹310 crore in earnings, it has crossed the lifetime collections of Sooryavanshi (₹300 crore) and The Kerala Story (₹304 crore).

Mahavatar Narsimha is a mythological story that shows the Narsimha avatar of Lord Vishnu and the story of Prahlad. It is the first part of the seven-film Mahavatar Cinematic Universe planned by Hombale Films. The movie has become very popular with children and family audiences. Because of this success, the makers are now confident about releasing the next parts in the series.

This achievement proves that animated films can also rule the box office if the story and execution are strong. Mahavatar Narsimha has opened a new chapter for Indian animation cinema.
