Kalamkaval Advance Booking: The Malayalam audience is extremely eager to see Mammootty in a new avatar, given the selection of eclectic yet memorable roles he has done so far. Evidently, the pre-release buzz is backed by great advance bookings for the film.
Kalamkaval has managed to collect ₹1.52 crores from advance bookings solely in Kerala. From the rest of India, the film made another ₹13 lakh, while from the overseas market, ₹66 lakh. This takes a total of ₹2.31 crore in advance worldwide, evidencing the curiosity and eagerness of fans, as per the trade.
Kalamkaval is directed by debutant Jithin K. Jose, with an actual run of 2 hours, 19 minutes, and 3 seconds; 58 minutes and 34 seconds for the first half and 1 hour, 20 minutes, and 29 seconds for the second half, produced by the Mammootty Company for distribution in Kerala by Waefer Films.
The screenplay credits go to Jithin K. Jose and Jishnu Sreekumar. Significantly, Jithin drew attention when he did the screenplay for the hit Kurup, which starred Dulquer Salmaan, making Kalamkaval now his directorial debut.
George Sebastian is the executive producer; Faisal Ali for cinematography; Mujeeb Majeed for music; editing by Praveen Prabhakar; line producer Sunil Singh; and Shaji Naduvil as production designer.
