Samantha 100g Protein Plan: Is It Ideal for the Average Indian Woman?

Samantha 100g Protein Plan:
Actress Samantha Ruth Prabhu recently shared that she eats about 100 grams of protein per day, even though she weighs 50 kg. Her statement made many wonder how much protein does an average Indian woman really need?

Samantha 100g Protein Plan:

According to nutritionist Rashi Chowdhary, “An average Indian woman who weighs around 55 to 60 kg should aim for 60 to 80 grams of protein daily.” She explained that vegetarian diets often contain more carbohydrates and fats than protein, so it’s important to plan meals properly using lentils, legumes, curd, and paneer to reach the target.

She also said, “If you add a good-quality protein powder, getting up to 80 grams will become much easier.” For most women, 1.2 to 1.6 grams of protein per kilogram of body weight is ideal. However, the amount depends on activity level, metabolism, and gut health.

But not everyone can start with a high protein intake. Chowdhary warned, “Some of my clients can’t even reach 50 grams of protein, not because protein is the problem, but because the gut isn’t ready. That’s why I recommend a gut cleanse first to help rebuild the gut lining and improve protein absorption.”

A healthy gut is key to digesting and using protein properly. Nutrition expert Vivek Vashist added, “Adding more protein to a weak gut is like adding fuel to fire. It can cause inflammation, bloating, and constipation.” He also mentioned that proper sleep and calm eating habits help the body absorb nutrients better.

Vashist further explained, “Protein is for repair and growth, and both happen in rest, not rush. As children, we eat with openness, but as adults, we eat with anxiety that’s not nourishment but negotiation.”

Experts advise starting small, listening to your body, and focusing on gut health before increasing protein intake. “In Ayurveda, less is more, and consistency beats intensity,” said Vashist, reminding people that balance is the key to long-term health.
