Tollywood actress donates:
Many people dream of wealth, fame, and comfort. But very few choose a simple and spiritual life after achieving all this. One such inspiring example is senior actress Kanchana, who once ruled South Indian cinema. She recently became the talk of social media after a video showed her arriving at a condolence meeting in a simple auto-rickshaw.
The video was recorded during the last rites of famous producer and studio owner Saravanan. While many celebrities reached in luxury cars, Kanchana came quietly in an auto. She paid her respects with folded hands and left the same way. Her simplicity touched many hearts and the video went viral.
Kanchana acted in more than 200 films across Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, Malayalam, and Hindi languages. She worked with legendary actors like NTR, ANR, Krishna, and Sobhan Babu in her golden days. Her grace, acting skills, and screen presence made her one of the top heroines of the 1960s and 1970s.
What truly makes her special is her deep devotion to Lord Venkateswara. After winning a long legal battle over her ancestral property in Chennai, she donated the entire land—worth nearly ₹100 crore—to Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams. The land was used to build a temple for Lord Venkateswara and Goddess Padmavathi. Kanchana had made a vow that if she won the case, she would give everything to God—and she kept her promise.
Despite having such massive wealth once, she chose a quiet spiritual life. She never got married and now spends most of her time in devotion and simple living.
Young audiences may remember her as the grandmother character in the movie Arjun Reddy. Even today, she continues to act. She is also part of Prabhas’ upcoming movie Spirit, which proves her dedication to cinema is still strong.
Kanchana’s life teaches us that true wealth is not money, but faith, kindness, and simplicity. Her journey from superstardom to spiritual living is truly inspiring.
