Telugu and Tamil Movies Releasing This Week:
This Friday, December 12, 2025, is going to be exciting for South Indian movie fans. Seven new Telugu and Tamil films are arriving in theatres with different stories, star casts, and genres. From action and romance to thrillers and social dramas, this week’s releases promise something for everyone. Along with these launches, there is also big news about Akhanda 2, starring Nandamuri Balakrishna.
The most awaited Tamil release this week is Vaa Vaathiyaar. In this film, Karthi plays a police officer who admires legendary leader M. G. Ramachandran. The movie is directed by Nalan Kumarasamy and also stars Krithi Shetty and Sathyaraj. It is an action-comedy with a political angle.
Another Telugu release is Mowgli, starring Roshan Kanakala and Sakshi Sagar Mhadolkar. Directed by Sandeep Raj, this romantic action film is completely different from the famous Jungle Book story. It is planned mainly as a Telugu film with a possible dubbed Tamil version.
Failure Boys is another emotional Telugu film releasing this week. Starring Arjun Ambati and Pradeep Kumar, the movie is directed by Venkata Reddy Vusirika. The story follows three broken-hearted young men who try to uncover the truth behind a girl’s tragic love story.
In Tamil, Yaru Potta Kodu is a social drama set in a village ruled by fear and superstition. Directed by Lenin Vadamalai and starring S M Prabakaran and Meghali Meenakshi, the movie focuses on how a teacher and students fight for change.
Telugu romantic comedy Psych Siddhartha stars Shree Nandu and Yaamini Bhaskar under the direction of Varun Reddy. The story shows how a troubled man’s life changes when his past returns.
The suspense thriller Missterious stars Rohit Sahni and Meghna Rajput and is directed by Mahi Komatireddy. The film follows a police investigation into the mysterious disappearance of a sub-inspector.
The big pan-Indian release this week is Mahasenha, starring Vemal, Srushti Dange, Yogi Babu, and Kabir Duhan Singh. Directed by Dhinesh Kalaiselvan, it mixes mythology, adventure, and thriller elements and is releasing in five languages.
Fans were eagerly waiting for Akhanda 2 to release on December 5, 2025, but the movie was postponed. Now, the makers have officially confirmed that the film will hit theatres on December 12, 2025. The movie is directed by Boyapati Sreenu and once again features Balakrishna in a powerful dual role. Expectations are very high as this is the sequel to the blockbuster Akhanda.
With seven new releases and Akhanda 2 arriving together, December 12 is going to be a massive day for South Indian cinema lovers.
