Pahalgam Attack: IPL Players and Umpires to wear black armbands

Pahalgam Attack: Players from the Mumbai Indians and Sunrisers Hyderabad will wear black armbands during tonight’s Indian Premier League (IPL) game in Hyderabad as a show of support and grief in remembrance of the victims of the terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, which left numerous people injured and several dead.

BCCI Announcement:

Cheerleaders and fireworks, two typical components of the IPL’s joyous atmosphere, will not be used during the match out of respect. In the aftermath of the tragedy, the nation’s collective mourning is reflected in the somber atmosphere. As a sign of mourning, umpires will wear black armbands during games. There will also be a one-minute silence. Today’s IPl clash is between Sunrisers Hyderabad and Mumbai Indians scheduled at 7.30 Pm at Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium.

Pahalgam Attack:

There were troubling trends in the terror assault in Pahalgam on Tuesday, which claimed the lives of 28 tourists and injured many more. The incident happened at Baisaran Meadow, a charming spot 7km from Pahalgam that is only accessible on foot or horseback.

Six foreign extremists, disguised in Army uniforms, allegedly demanded that the victims give their identities and recite Islamic scriptures before opening fire on them from a distance, according to witnesses. Religious targeting was evident from the random gunfire, which seemed to be directed at locating and assaulting non-Muslim tourists.
