Huawei has announced a new foldable smartphone known as the Huawei Nova Flip S. The new model was announced officially in China and is being released just after the Nova Flip launched in August of the same year. The Nova Flip S is cheaper than the original edition, with new colors available for consumers to purchase.
The Nova Flip S matches the pricing of current foldable phones on the market. The 256GB model costs CNY 3,388 (about 41,900 Indian Rupees). The 512GB model sells for CNY 3,688 (roughly 45,600 Indian Rupees). Buyers choose from several color options, including New Green and Zero White. Other available colors include Sakura Pink and Star Black.
The Nova Flip S has a sizeable main display with a 6.94-inch foldable OLED screen delivering a resolution of 2690×1136 pixels. There is an additional smaller 2.14-inch design located on the cover of the phone. The larger main screen has support for a 120Hz adaptive refresh rate for smoother scrolling and visuals. The Nova Flip S weighs in at 195 grams making it lightweight and fairly easy to hold.
There has not been official word on the processor; however, several reports have cited a Kirin 8000 chipset in the new foldable phone, which should allow for consistent performance from day-to-day. The software on the Nova Flip S is the Harmony OS 5.1 version and will provide a seamless user experience. It integrates well with Huawei’s ecosystem of devices.
The camera system is a major highlight. It boasts a 50-megapixel main sensor. An 8-megapixel ultra-wide-angle camera supports it. You can record high-quality 4K video with ease. For selfies, a 32-megapixel inner camera is provided. This ensures high-quality photos and video calls.
A substantial battery powers the device. It has a 4,400mAh capacity. This should easily last through a full day. The phone supports 66W wired fast charging. You can quickly top up the battery when needed. This reduces waiting time significantly.
Security is handled by a fingerprint scanner. It is conveniently mounted on the side. The device offers a premium foldable experience. It aims to make flip phones more accessible. This model is a strong contender in its segment.
