Samsung Galaxy A17 4G has been launched in Germany under Samsung’s budget A-series. It is a strong, well-performing device with decent features on the cheaper side. Although listed on the German website of Samsung itself, there remains silence when it comes to official pricing and availability. However, some information was presented to the general public through local retailers and e-commerce portals.
A German retailer has listed the Samsung Galaxy A17 4G with 4GB RAM and 128GB storage for KSH 22,400, making it to about Rs 15,000 in India. In fact, Samsung Germany’s website too has listed the device, but without a pricing confirmation. Samsung has also not revealed launch plans for the smartphone in other international markets. Samsung already features the Galaxy A17 5G, which starts at Rs 18,999 in India.
The Galaxy A17 4G features a 6.7-inch Full HD+ Super AMOLED display.
90Hz refresh rate support allows smooth scrolling and better visuals if screening content is fast-moving.
The display is protected with Gorilla Glass Victus for maximum durability.
Samsung also mentions an IP54 rating that may save the phone from dust and slight water splashes.
The phone measures 164.4×77.9×7.5mm and weighs only 190 grams, making it feel lightweight and slim.
The smartphone has a MediaTek Helio G99 processor to provide performance.
It is combined with 4GB RAM, and there is 128GB of internal storage.
Users have the option to expand storage up to 2TB via a microSD card.
This combination should work well for users doing casual app work, some multitasking, and modest gaming for budget users.
The Galaxy A17 4G has a triple rear camera setup, including:
A 50MP primary camera with OIS – a 5MP ultrawide camera – and a 2MP macro camera.
For selfies, it has a 13MP front-facing camera.
Samsung’s camera system gives you versatility to meet everyday needs for photography.
It also has a 5,000 mAh battery with an estimated 18 hours of video playback time. The standard connectivity options are also included such as 4G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.3, NFC, GPS, and USB Type-C.
The device is running Android 15, with One UI 7 out of the box. Samsung has stated that this device will receive six years of major OS updates, as well as six years of security updates. The usual AI features such as Gemini Live and Circle to Search are also present.
The Samsung Galaxy A17 4G is a robust smartphone for its display, camera, and battery which meets the price constraints for budget-minded users. Extended support for updates makes this phone more future-proof.
