Vivo launched its first book-style foldable smartphone, Vivo X Fold 5, alongside X200 FE in India on July 14, 2025. Powered by Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, this device comes in at a pencil-thin 4.3mm when unfolded, making it one of the slimmest foldable phones available, in direct competition with Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7. Price and Availability
The Vivo X Fold 5 is priced at Rs 1,49,999 for its only 16GB RAM + 512GB storage variant. Pre-booking started on July 14, 2025, and the sale began July 30 via Flipkart, Amazon, Vivo’s official website, and other major retailers all across India. Buyers may enjoy a Rs 15,000 instant discount with HDFC, SBI, or Axis bank cards, in addition to a Rs 15,000 exchange bonus. The bonus also included a one-year extended warranty and Vivo TWS 3e earbuds for just Rs 1,499. The color options include Titanium Grey, Green, and White.
Specifications
The Vivo X Fold 5 is available in a number of variants with either Funtouch OS 15 (Android 15) or the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor with either 16 GB of LPDDR5X RAM and 512 GB of UFS 4.1 storage. It features an 8.03-inch 2K+ AMOLED internal display and a 6.53-inch Full HD+ AMOLED external cover display, both with a screen refresh rate of 120Hz and 4,500 nits of peak brightness for bright, colorful displays. The device weighs 217g when alone and measures 9.2mm thick when closed and just 4.3mm thick when opened. The hinge has undergone solid durability testing it can survive 600,000 folds.

The Zeiss tuned triple rear camera system includes the following camera sensors: the main 50MP Sony IMX921 wide angle camera with OIS stabilization, a 50MP ultrawide camera, and a 50MM IMX882 telephoto lens with 3x optical zoom and 100x HyperZoom. It has dual front cameras which are 20MP for both the cover display and internal display.
Battery and Connectivity
A 6,000mAh battery is powering the Vivo X Fold 5 which can be charged wired and wirelessly at up to 80W for wired charging and 40W for wireless. It has ratings for IPX8, IPX9, IPX9+, and IP5X for dust and water proofing. The device has dual nano SIM card slots and is capable of 5G, Wi-Fi 5, Bluetooth v 5.4, and has a USB Type-C port.
