iBomma Admin Ravi In Court: The arrest of Imadi Ravi, one of the so-called kings of the notorious piracy network Ibomma, was a substantial breakthrough for the Hyderabad Cyber Crime Police in their long-held investigation against digital piracy. The police are now close to fulfilling the critical part of prosecuting and taking Ravi before the court in Nampally following days of interrogation and collection of evidence.
Ravi was telling crucial things during interrogation regarding:
The functioning of the Ibomma network
How films are procured, encoded, and uploaded in some hours after release
Names of his accomplices and locations where they worked from
Hosting methods and rapid domain shift strategies
The officers confirmed that indeed Ravi gave in-depth explanations concerning several of their mirror sites, backup server practices, and uploading processes for pirated OTT content.
A huge confiscation took place during a police raid in Kukatpally, where Ravi seemed to have operated part of his piracy setup. The following were recovered by the officers:
Hundreds of hard disks
