iBomma Admin Ravi In Court: The arrest of Imadi Ravi, one of the so-called kings of the notorious piracy network Ibomma, was a substantial breakthrough for the Hyderabad Cyber Crime Police in their long-held investigation against digital piracy. The police are now close to fulfilling the critical part of prosecuting and taking Ravi before the court in Nampally following days of interrogation and collection of evidence.
Ravi was telling crucial things during interrogation regarding:
The functioning of the Ibomma network
How films are procured, encoded, and uploaded in some hours after release
Names of his accomplices and locations where they worked from
Hosting methods and rapid domain shift strategies
The officers confirmed that indeed Ravi gave in-depth explanations concerning several of their mirror sites, backup server practices, and uploading processes for pirated OTT content.
A huge confiscation took place during a police raid in Kukatpally, where Ravi seemed to have operated part of his piracy setup. The following were recovered by the officers:
Hundreds of hard disks
Large number of high-performance computers
Storage units packed with huge amounts of pirated files
Documentary evidence logging upload activities
These items contained traces of hundreds of movies watched, recorded, edited, and made ready for illegal distribution by Ravi.
Ravi was traced to be exceedingly active from Vizag, running part of Ibomma’s backend from there to shifting operations through several states. His background helped police chart the consummate growth of Ibomma as one of the most famous piracy interfaces in India.

One of the principal achievements for Cyber Crime Police was identifying the servers that Ravi used for his operations. These include:
Offshore hosting platforms
Temporary cloud-based servers
Region-hopping IP networks to evade monitoring.
This technical mapping can then enable the authorities to shut down the future mirror sites effectively.
With the pivotal material, seized hardware, and statement from Ravi, Cyber Crime Police are putting together an ironclad case against the wrongdoers. This arrest is a huge leap into the anti-digital piracy movement that protects an entire industry’s rights and, in the near future, Ravi will be presented before Nampally.
