Many attributed being one of the finest filmmakers in Telugu cinema to Ram Gopal Varma because of his debut feature Shiva, which revolutionized Telugu cinema by establishing standards for filmmaking, storytelling and technical prowess. With the defeat of the YSRCP in major elections during 2024, Ram Gopal Varma seems to have realized the worth of the choice upon them to re-promise his decision about the political propaganda and once again move his gaze to producing a film. To add a twist to the tale, he has recently expressed repentance for his past actions, and publicly apologized to Chiranjeevi.
The cause was Chiranjeevi’s praise for a video message with real feel for the re-release of Shiva, wherein Megastar acknowledged Varma’s vision being path-breaking and the indelible mark that the film had made on Telugu cinema. He thanked Chiranjeevi on social media and apologized, stating that he would be sorry if he had ever unintentionally hurt him.
Though he did not provide further clarification of his communication-message, it was said to be more of genuine penance. Fans are taking this as very good change and are saluting Chiranjeevi’s magnanimity and Varma’s humility. That Chiru recognized the exploitation from the director but still acknowledged Varma’s fine skills at the re-release of Shiva speaks volumes about his gracious character.
For many, this moment marks a symbolic reconciliation-and perhaps a new chapter for Ram Gopal Varma, one based in introspection over provocation.
