Mumbai Metro: Beginning on November 23, Mumbai Metro will provide passengers with disabilities with a 25% fare reduction, according to the Mumbai Metro Rail Corporation Ltd (MMRCL). According to the operator, the program is a component of their dedication to improving the accessibility and inclusivity of the city’s metro system for people with disabilities (PwDs).
The technical integration needed to implement the concession in the ticketing system is nearing completion, according to an official statement. “Final testing is presently taking place for the 25% concession for commuters with disabilities that was previously announced. The integration project is moving along according to schedule and should be finished shortly, according to the MMRCL. As per the announcement, the fare decrease will go into effect on November 23 after the testing procedure is over.
WhatsApp-Based Ticket System:
For passengers on Metro Line 3, popularly called Aqua Line, which runs between Cuffe Parade in south Mumbai and Aarey JVLR in the northwest of the city, the MMRC introduced WhatsApp-based ticketing last month. In order to generate QR-based WhatsApp tickets instantaneously through a straightforward conversational interface, passengers will only need to say “Hi” to +91 98730 16836 or scan the QR code displayed at stations, according to a release published by MMRC on Monday.

“The service promotes sustainable travel by removing paper tickets, supporting numerous payment methods, and enabling commuters to produce up to six QR tickets in a single transaction. There will be no extra fees for UPI-based payments, but there will be small fees for card transactions, according to the statement.
