Best Public Transport in 2025: India’s urban population continues to increase at a rapid pace in 2025, but there are certain cities that are meeting this challenge by creating clean, green, and efficient public transport facilities. From metro to e-buses, these are the top five Indian cities leading the public transport revolution.
Delhi leads the pack with one of Asia’s largest and best metro systems. The Delhi Metro along with feeder buses, e-rickshaws, and GPS-based navigation tools has facilitated daily commuting faster and cleaner. Addition of Phase IV and smart ticketing with QR code has only made life simpler.

The entry of electric buses in recent times also provided it with a green advantage.
Kochi is a small city but hums with its latest multimodal system. The Kochi Metro, water metro, and feeder buses occupy the gap in it. The interoperable open mobility card of the city is a great example of a model of transport integration.
