The number of corona cases in the country has increased to 2,710. Also, the fact that seven people have died due to corona so far is causing concern in the health department circles. Currently, most of the cases are being registered in Kerala. The latest statistics from the Kerala Ministry of Health and Family Welfare have revealed that the highest number of Covid infections are in Kerala.

1,147 positive cases in Kerala, 424 in Maharashtra.

While 294 cases have been registered in Delhi, 223 corona cases have come to light in Gujarat. According to the National Health Ministry statistics, 148 cases have been registered in the states of Karnataka and Tamil Nadu, and 116 cases have been registered in West Bengal. Seven people have died in the last 24 hours. The number of deaths in the first 5 months of this year has reached 22. The main variant spreading in the country is JN.1.

Experts believe that two new Omicron sub-variants, LF.7 and NB.1.8.1, are contributing to the increase in corona cases. However, statistics show that JN.1 is the main variant spreading in the country. Experts suggest that the newly spreading variants may have the ability to evade the immune system. However, they say that there is no evidence that they cause severe, long-term infections.
