Hyderabad Metro Rail Announces New Ticket Prices; Check Updated Rates

Hyderabad Metro Fare Hike: Hyderabad Metro Rail has announced a fare increase that will affect all daily commuters from May 17, 2025. This is the first time since the metro service started that ticket prices have been raised. The company managing the metro, L\&T Metro Rail Hyderabad Ltd, confirmed the new fare rates.

Hyderabad Metro Fare Hike:

The minimum ticket price will rise from ₹10 to ₹12, while the highest fare will increase from ₹60 to ₹75. The updated fares are based on the distance traveled by passengers. Here is the new fare chart:

Up to 2 kilometers: ₹12

4 to 6 kilometers: ₹30

6 to 9 kilometers: ₹40

9 to 12 kilometers: ₹50

12 to 15 kilometers: ₹55

18 to 21 kilometers: ₹66

21 to 24 kilometers: ₹70

More than 24 kilometers: ₹75

L\&T Metro Rail explained that the fare hike is needed because of rising costs in running and maintaining the metro system. Factors such as inflation, higher electricity bills, and ongoing maintenance expenses have increased over time. Since the metro’s launch, the fare structure had not changed, so this update was necessary.

Although commuters are concerned about the higher fares, officials assure that the quality, safety and reliability of the metro service will continue without compromise. They encourage passengers to check the new fare details before traveling after May 17.

This fare revision is part of efforts to keep the metro operational and efficient while facing increased expenses. Hyderabad Metro Rail remains committed to providing a safe and comfortable journey

for its passengers.
