The Hyderabad Traffic Police issues severe alerts to all drivers, including auto-rickshaw, cabs and bike taxi operators, against any use of phones or earphones while on the steering wheel. Observations have shown that most drivers highly love watching videos or listening to music while driving, and “AUTHORITIES STRESS, NOT ONLY DANGEROUS, BUT ALSO PUNISHABLE BY LAW CONCERNING TRAFFIC .”
Distracted driving, according to traffic experts, exposes the driver, passengers and other road users to great danger. For instance, a split second can result in an accident that will have an impact on life, the police reminder goes on: “No distraction is worth a life-stay focused, stay safe”. This assertion on road safety is supported by all safety advocates, as staying focused while driving remains one of the most effective ways to prevent accidents in a busy city like Hyderabad.
A concerned netizen suggested the need to develop a portal for traffic violations reported directly to citizens with public submission of complaints on “footpath driving, driving on wrong side and driving while talking on the phone.” These are said to be the most common violations in the metropolis. Such new platform could go together with the police in providing enforcement capacity making the process simpler for ordinary citizens and spreading the idea of road safety being held in common responsibility.
With strict enforcement combined with active citizen participation, Hyderabad Traffic Police intend to reach and eliminate violators on the roads and provide also safer roads for all. Public cooperation combined with technology and monitoring can potentially reduce accidents that compromise the lives of many people because of negligence and carelessness while driving.
As the metropolis gets busy over the years, roads increasingly become a priority area. Drivers should restrain themselves from distractions, keep all traffic rules and policies, and ensure the safety of everyone on the road, while the citizens can indeed get interested in law enforcement trips.
🚦 Many drivers, including auto-rickshaw and cab/bike taxi drivers, are often seen watching videos or using earphones while driving. This is dangerous and a punishable offence. Hyderabad Traffic Police will take strict action against such violators.
