Telangana Weather Update:
Southwest monsoon winds are moving faster across Telangana. The Hyderabad Meteorological Centre observed stronger conditions in the atmosphere. These conditions are helping the monsoon advance. Rain activity has already started in some districts.
A surface circulation has developed over south Telangana. This weather system is pulling moisture from nearby areas. Due to this, several districts are receiving light to moderate rainfall. The Meteorological Centre predicted more rain for Sunday and Monday.
Temperatures have dropped in many places. Heat has decreased due to rainfall in scattered areas. Maximum temperatures may stay 3 to 5 degrees below average for the next three days.
Heat and lightning have caused deaths in a few areas. Two people died from sunstroke. Two others died due to lightning strikes. In Peddapalli district, Julapalli recorded the highest temperature at 41.7°C. In Nalgonda district, Singarajupalli village reported a heat death. A 60-year-old sanitation worker named Ponugoti Rameshwar Rao died. In Khammam district, an 80-year-old man named Thorlapati Dasu passed away in Ramachandrapuram.
Rainfall helped lower the temperature. Mancherial district received the most rain. Nennel area saw 6.9 cm. Nizamabad district’s Balkonda received 5.5 cm. In Medak district, Padalapalli village in Toopran zone reported two deaths due to lightning. The victims were boys aged 15 and 13, named Pambala Prasad and Nadipalli Yashwanth.
The weather office advised people to stay safe. High heat and sudden lightning remain a risk. Drinking enough water, staying indoors during storms, and avoiding metal objects in open spaces can help prevent harm.
Farmers in rain-fed regions welcomed the monsoon progress. Early rains support soil moisture. This helps in preparing lands for sowing. Agriculture officers in several mandals started field visits. Seed distribution work has also begun.
Forecasters continue to monitor the monsoon. More rainfall may reach northern Telangana districts in the coming week. Weather alerts are being shared through local bulletins and media.
