List of Cricketers With Most Ducks in IPL

It’s a moment of joy and celebration for any cricketer if they either make a new or break existing records. However, it also feels embarrassing for them when they are named in unwanted records. The same happened with Glenn Maxwell yesterday. Playing for Punjab in its first game of the Tata IPL 2025, Maxwell recorded a duck when GT bowler Sai Kishore got him out as leg before. With this, Maxwell sets a new record now for topping the list of cricketers with the most ducks in the IPL.

Undoubtedly, IPL favours the batters. The format, rules, and pitches are made convenient for them to free their arms. This makes it challenging for bowlers, they are often hit outside the ground. While Glen Maxwell is a master in hitting and handed over memorable victories to his team, he also got out without scoring on 19 occasions, the most for any player. While Cricket is all about skill, intent, and grit, the game sometimes needs a bit of luck. Here are some of the players who returned to the pavilion without disturbing the scoreboard.

• Glenn Maxwell – The Aussie player is well-known for destroying the opposition bowling attack. His terrific innings against Afghanistan in the ODI World Cup 2023 is one of the most memorable innings in ODI history. Even in IPL, he took his team from the verge of defeat and guided them to cross the finish line. However, with 19 ducks, he is on the top of the list of most ducks in IPL.
• Rohit Sharma – Rohit Sharma’s inclusion in this list is not only surprising but also odd. The MI skipper has a massive role in making Mumbai Indians a formidable team. His contribution to MI winning 5 trophies is immense. The Indian skipper has 18 ducks in his bag.
• Dinesh Karthik – With 18 zeros, Dinesh Karthik and Rohit Sharma share the second spot. Now that DK is out of active cricket, he is busy as a commentator.
