Kanguva Rating: 1/5

Suriya’s highly anticipated project is ‘Kanguva’, directed by Siva. This film features Suriya in a triple role and Bobby Deol as a villain, while Disha Patani plays the female lead. ‘Kanguva’ is based on two timelines: one follows a tribal warrior fighting fiercely to protect his people a millennium ago, while the other centres on a cop in the present day.

Story:

Kanguva revolves around the two timelines ancestral Suriya to Modern Suriya. The common point in this film and other periodic films is the cause. The betrayal is the most common thing that ended the eras of kings, tribes etc. One such story is Kanguva. The undefeated warrior can only be defeated by betrayal, this obvious factor drives the film. The absence of Disha Patani in the trailer hints at her very limited screen presence and the most unimportant role in the film.

Kanguva Review:

Suriya’s Kanguva is one of the most anticipated films of this year. The films opens on an interesting note. While the special electrifying entry of Suriya in the film grabbed the limelight. The film managed to keep the audience engaging in the theatres. Suriya’s screen presence is giving chills. The action scenes set in the backdrop of centuries ago seems realistic. The Special unreleased elevation song from DSP caught the attention and surprised fans.

Emotional interval scenes left the story more interesting. While the screenplay lagged in a few scenes that made this film an average one. The action sequences and the periodic scenes were shot in the best way possible. The recreation of hunting sequences and the blood. As we all know, Disha Patani is just a maniquiene of the film but not a significant role. The movie can still go on without her.

The action sequences are top notch and Suriya shed his every drop of his energy to make the film work. Bobby Deol and Suriya face off set the fire on screen. While the screenplay ruined the film a bit, Suriya and Bobby deol managed to fix it on screen.

Positives:

Suriya Screen Presence
Suriya and Bobby Deol face off
DSP music

Negatives:

Poor Screenplay
Long scenes

Kanguva Rating: 1/5
