AR Rahman On His Health: Indian music composer and singer AR Rahman recently shared a personal health scare that made headlines. In an interview with India Today, Rahman opened up about his hospitalization earlier this year. He revealed that after fasting and turning vegetarian, he suffered from a gastric attack, which led to his hospitalization. “I was fasting and had even turned vegetarian. I got a gastric attack and was in the hospital. The next thing I got to know was that they had sent out a press note, and it was all there. It was, however, nice to get so many beautiful messages from people and realize that they do want me to live,” Rahman said with a laugh.

Earlier, Rahman was rushed to a Chennai hospital due to dehydration and neck pain following travel. He underwent several tests and was discharged after a quick recovery. His hospitalization sparked rumors about a potential heart issue, but Rahman’s team quickly refuted these claims, calling it “fake news.” They clarified that he had been admitted due to dehydration and neck pain, not a heart problem.

Rahman also discussed his separation from his wife, Saira Banu, which made headlines last year. Despite the challenges in their relationship, Rahman emphasized the importance of his fans’ support. “It’s humanizing. You tend to sometimes hate a person who doesn’t feel human. I faced my ups and downs, and that’s the truth,” he said. He further reflected on how his fans have made him feel like a superhero, which inspired the name of his upcoming music tour, “Wonderment.” He expressed gratitude for the overwhelming love and blessings he receives from his followers.

Despite these personal challenges, Rahman continues to focus on his music career and will soon embark on his “Wonderment” music tour. He has also been involved in recent Bollywood projects including composing music for Vicky Kaushal’s film Chhaava.
