How to watch Met Gala 2025: Streaming Platforms and Timing

Met Gala 2025: Every year on the first Monday in May, the Met Gala, the grandest night in fashion, will return on Monday, May 5. The Costume Institute’s annual fashion exhibit at the Metropolitan Museum of Art opens with a lavish opening celebration, which also serves as a high-profile fundraiser.

Theme for this year:

In keeping with the Costume Institute’s “Superfine” show, the 2025 Met Gala theme is “Tailored for You.” Attendees are challenged to understand the elegance of dandyism by the dress code. The 2009 book “Slaves to Fashion: Black Dandyism and the Styling of Black Diasporic Identity” by Monica L. Miller was recognized by The Met as an inspiration.

Event Location & Guest List:

The event will take place at New York City’s Metropolitan Museum of Art, much like in years past. The famous red carpet setting for a procession of custom clothing will once again be the Met’s steps. According to Vogue, there will be over 450 attendees this year, including a variety of up-and-coming celebrities, creatives, and leaders in the fields of fashion, art, sports, and politics.

Red carpet Timings:
The red carpet officially begins at 6 p.m. ET on May 5 (3:30 am IST on May 6). Guest arrivals start at 5:30 p.m. ET on Monday, May 5 (3:00 a.m. Tuesday, Indian Standard Time (IST), May 6, and continue until 8:00 p.m. ET on Monday, May 5 (5:30 a.m. Tuesday, Indian Standard Time (IST), May 6.

Streaming On:
There are multiple methods for fans to see the Met Gala fashion live. Beginning at 6 p.m. ET, Vogue will webcast the red carpet on various digital channels, including its YouTube account. Ego Nwodim, La La Anthony, and Teyana Taylor are among the hosts.

Starting at 6 p.m. ET/PT, Zanna Roberts Rassi, Maria Taylor, Elaine Welteroth, Yvonne Orji, and Christian Siriano will co-host a 3.5-hour red carpet special on E! Network. Additionally, from 6:30 to 8 p.m. ET, E! will stream a special digital edition on Peacock, E! Online, and social media.
