Brad Pitt’s alleged domestic violence against Angelina Jolie and their children is a crucial point in their French winery legal struggle.
Brad Pitt secured a legal victory last week when a Los Angeles Superior Court judge ruled in favor of his and Angelina Jolie’s French winery dispute, which was about to go to trial. Although the Maria star’s attempts to have the case dismissed were denied, a Monday ruling ultimately worked in her favor.
On November 25, a judge reportedly ordered Pitt to “produce documents and communications” that are thought to have concealed alleged domestic violence against Jolie and their children. Jolie’s “gratified” attorney, Paul Murphy, told Us Weekly on Tuesday, November 26, that the “crucial evidence” the F1 star reportedly attempted to conceal for years “concerning abuse, lies to authorities, and years of cover-up” will now be a primary focus of the Chateau Miraval case moving forward.
The records sought by Judge Lia Martin allegedly back up Jolie’s claims against Pitt that he forced her to sign a nondisclosure agreement prohibiting her from speaking about the alleged abuse so she could sell her winery share to her ex-husband.
In response to the latest verdict, a source close to Brad described it as “mostly irrelevant” because the Troy actor has “provided so much information already.”
Jolie’s lawyer said that even though “she never pressed charges, she left all their properties, and she is the one who tried to sell him the business in the first place,” her ex is still demanding more despite having “at all times controlled Miraval and the winery.” Murphy, speaking on behalf of his client, underlined that Jolie and the children want the legal turbulence that has enveloped their family to be resolved.
The conflict further damaged ties between the once-divorced couple and their six children after Pitt accused Jolie of unlawfully selling her winery holdings. They have been fighting this issue since the beginning of 2022.
