Materialists Fans Must Wait Longer for Its OTT Release

Materialists, the star-studded romantic comedy directed by Celine Song, has generated huge buzz since its theatrical release in the US on June 13, 2025. Featuring Dakota Johnson, Chris Evans, and Pedro Pascal, the film redefines the rom-com genre with its modern story and strong performances. However, fans eagerly awaiting its OTT release will need to wait longer for the film to be available on OTT platforms. According to the makers the film be released on MAX sometime in late October.

Why Materialists OTT Release Is Delayed

A24, the studio behind Materialists, follows a “Pay-1” window release strategy under its exclusive content deal with Warner Bros. Discovery. This means after the theatrical run, viewers can buy or rent the film digitally, likely by July 2025. Full streaming access on Max is expected around October 2025. This staggered approach follows A24’s recent release pattern, including films like Babygirl.

Directed by Celine Song (Past Lives), the film blends sharp humor, emotional depth, and stylish storytelling.
