Samsung May Launch Tri-Fold Smartphone Soon, Says Report

Tri-Fold Smartphone: Samsung is likely to launch its first tri-fold smartphone alongside the upcoming Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Galaxy Z Flip 7 foldables, according to a report. The company’s next-generation foldable phones are expected to arrive on July 9 alongside the upcoming Galaxy Watch 8 series. New reports suggest that Samsung will reveal the tri-fold smartphone at its upcoming Galaxy Unpacked event and that it will be available in the market later this year.


 

Samsung will unveil its first tri-fold smartphone (or Galaxy G Fold) alongside the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Galaxy Z Flip 7 at its Galaxy Unpacked event on July 9, claims a tipster on Chinese platform Weibo, Instant Digital Post. The company is also expected to launch the Galaxy Watch 8 series at the upcoming event.


Galaxy G Fold foldable phone

While Samsung is rumored to launch the Galaxy G Fold foldable phone on July 9, it is not expected to be available for purchase alongside the upcoming Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 7 and Galaxy Z Fold 7. The tipster says that the Galaxy tri-fold phone will debut in the market in October.

Tri-Fold Smartphone?

Not much information is available about the Galaxy tri-fold phone. However, Samsung has showcased several foldable prototypes at various trade shows over the past few years. These include the Flex Slideable, Flex S, and Flex G concept panels. A recent report suggests that the Galaxy G Fold could cost more than $3,000 (roughly Rs. 2.56 lakh) and could have a silicon-carbon battery.

 

In addition to the Samsung Galaxy tri-fold phone, the upcoming Galaxy Z Fold 7, Galaxy Z Flip 7, and Galaxy Watch 8 series, the company is also expected to reveal more details about its Android XR headset, codenamed Project Moohan. Samsung is also reportedly working on a new pair of AR glasses, which are also likely to be unveiled at the July 9 event.
