Top 5 Upcoming EVs: With numerous automakers introducing their own models in different markets, the electric vehicle market in India has been expanding quickly. At the Auto Expo 2025, Hyundai debuted the Creta Electric to kick off the year. Following that, MG recently unveiled the MG M9 EV, and even high-end automakers like Mercedes-Benz have started producing EVs. The largest passenger car maker, Maruti Suzuki, is presently preparing to introduce the e-Vitara, its first electric SUV.


In addition to the e-Vitara, the MG Cyberster and VinFast SUVs are anticipated to enter the nation shortly. Here is a brief overview of the electric vehicles that are anticipated to be introduced to the Indian market soon:

1. VinFast VF7:
The VinFast VF7, an all-electric SUV that is set to go on sale in August, is the sibling of the VF6. The SUV will be available from the automaker with a 75.3 kWh battery. It produces 204 horsepower and 310 Nm in the Eco trim, and its projected range is 450 km. With its dual-motor all-wheel-drive system, the Plus model produces 354 horsepower and 500 Nm of torque. This version has a somewhat shorter range of 431 km despite its improved performance. In the Indian markets, reservations for the VF7 have also started.

2. Mahindra XEV 7e:
Recently, the Mahindra XEV 7e was also observed undergoing testing on Indian tarmac. This EV, which is anticipated to come soon, will sit directly between the BE 6 and the XEV 9e, the two electric EVs produced by the domestic automaker. Additionally, the company’s modular INGLO skateboard platform will serve as the foundation for the Mahindra XEV 7e. In addition to offering battery pack options of 59 kWh and 79 kWh with a driving range of up to 600 km on a full charge, it is likely to use engine options from existing models like the BE 6 and XEV 9e.

3. VinFast VF6:
The Vietnamese automaker displayed the VinFast VF6 SUV at the 2025 Auto Expo. Reservations for the next EV have already begun. The SUV is anticipated to go on sale in August and will come in two different models. With a WLTP-certified driving range of up to 399 kilometers, the Eco version generates 178 horsepower and 250 Nm of torque. The Plus model, which is powered by a 59.6 kWh battery pack, has a slightly lower range of 381 km and a higher output of 204 bhp and 310 Nm. Similar EVs such as the Mahindra BE 6, Tata Curvv EV, and Hyundai Creta Electric will compete with the VinFast VF6.

4. Maruti Suzuki e-Vitara:
One of the most anticipated electric cars in India for 2025 is the Maruti Suzuki e-Vitara. The production-ready electric SUV was on show at the 2025 Auto Expo. Before its launch, the e-Vitara has already begun to arrive at Maruti Suzuki dealerships nationwide. There will be two battery pack configurations available: 49 kWh and 61 kWh. With a full charge, the electric SUV is expected to have a range of over 500 kilometers. The first week of September is when the Maruti Suzuki e-Vitara is expected to go on sale.

5. MG Cyberster:
At the Auto Expo 2025, the MG Cyberster, an electric roadster, was also on display. The Cyberster, which will be offered for sale alongside the M9 MPV through the MG Select network, has scissor doors. A lithium-ion battery pack with a capacity of 77 kWh powers this electric roadster. When fully charged, it claims a range of up to 570 kilometers. According to its claims, the MG Cybster can run from 0 to 100 kmph in 3.2 seconds. This electric sports car’s powertrain can produce a maximum power output of 510 horsepower and a maximum torque of 725 Nm.
