Xiaomi recently released its new outdoor security product, the Smart Outdoor Camera 4 Pro. This model uses three 5-megapixel sensors, and each sensor records in ultra-clear 3K resolution (2880×1620 pixels).
The lens provided by Xiaomi on all lenses has a wide f/1.6 aperture, allowing for sharp recording in low-light situations. The camera also remains trustworthy in harsh conditions with an IP66 rating so that users don’t have to worry about exposure issues. In China the camera retails for 449 yuan (₹5,440).
The three lenses work together to provide wide-angle coverage plus zoom capability. The system supports 9× hybrid zoom using two lenses at longer and wider focal lengths plus a fixed lens. One set provides a wide angle and long focus and another preset is fixed.
The system additionally includes infrared as well as white LED lighting. If it detects persons at night, it activates full-color night vision. This gives the user obvious details, in the dark.
Xiaomi includes intelligent tracking in the Camera 4 Pro. The lens can use motor-driven horizontal gimbal control. Users can remotely change the angle of the camera using the Mi Home app. The camera hunts moving targets using the mobile camera functions and tracks the people vehicles in its field of sight.
The AI detects humans and vehicles automatically. It will recognize license plates if parked in a custom designated area and sends alerts when unauthorized vehicles found parked.
The app enables the creation of virtual polygon zones. Users use polygons to filter detection areas. The camera will sound the siren and high frequency light for any suspicious behaviour captured in the zone. The app will send alerts during the activity happening with the captured video.
The camera has dual-band Wi‑Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.0, and ethernet capability. For storage, the user may choose microSD up to 256GB, cloud service, or a NAS storage option. The device also employs H.265 encoding to reduce bandwidth and storage by 50%.
The camera allows two way audio. Users can speak through the camera. The camera has dual angle time lapse photography capability. It permits a compatible smart tv and other compatible Smart displays.
