Samsung Laptops: According to news agency PTI, which cited people familiar with the matter, Korean electronics giant Samsung has begun manufacturing laptops in India at its facility in Greater Noida. At its factory in Greater Noida, the company has been producing wearables, tablets, smartphones, and feature phones. Samsung’s manufacturing portfolio has grown. At its plant in Greater Noida, India, it has begun producing computers. It intends to begin producing other gadgets domestically, a source told PTI.
PTI claims that an email inquiry submitted to Samsung was not answered. “Samsung continues to expand manufacturing of its advanced technology devices in Bharat, driven by talent and innovation,” stated Union Electronics and IT Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw on Saturday, following a meeting with Samsung Southwest Asia President and CEO JB Park and Samsung Southwest Asia Corporate Vice President SP Chun. One of the first international electronics manufacturing plants was established in India in 1996 and was called the Samsung facility.
TM Roh, President and Head of Mobile eXperience (MX) Business at Samsung Electronics, announced earlier this year that the business has begun preparing to manufacture laptops in India. India is home to Samsung’s second-largest mobile phone production facility worldwide, and the company is the second-largest exporter of Indian phones, behind Apple.
Samsung Second-Largest Smartphone Player:
According to Counterpoint Research, Samsung is the second-largest smartphone player in India in terms of both value and volume share; however, the business has not yet established itself in the laptop market. According to CyberMedia Research, with a 15% market share, Samsung is also the second-largest participant in the tablet PC market.
