First and foremost, look at the app logo itself. Sora is a product of OpenAI, the Sora logo is the only one authentic. Make sure you check the developer name as well. It should clearly read OpenAI.
App description should be checked for obviously made mistakes. Also, you can spot errors in the text used in the application. One can learn much about an application by the user reviews and ratings. That is where the developers get their honest criticisms and compliments.
Do not use any other app store but the official one. Stay away from third-party app stores completely. If a link with an ad is what made you come across an app, then do not trust it. Users should always perform their own search instead of following the links.
If you come across a counterfeit app, do not delay in reporting it to Apple. Access the Report a Problem feature to do so. It is a useful tool that other users can benefit from. Application pre-screeners can act swiftly to expel the bad ones.
