How to Stop Spam Calls and Messages on WhatsApp

Stop Spam Calls:
Spam messages and calls on WhatsApp have become a big problem for many users. These unwanted calls are not only irritating but can also lead to cyber scams. Luckily, WhatsApp has introduced several privacy features to protect users from such spam. By changing a few settings, you can easily control who can contact you and keep your chats safe.

Stop Spam Calls:

1. Silence Unknown Calls

To start, make sure your WhatsApp app is updated. Then, go to Settings → Privacy → Calls. You will see the option ‘Silence Unknown Callers.’ Turn this on. Once enabled, any calls from unknown numbers will not ring on your phone — they will only appear in your call log. This helps you avoid disturbance and possible scam calls.

2. Stop Random Group Adds

Many users are added to unwanted WhatsApp groups by strangers. To prevent this, open Settings → Privacy → Groups → Choose who can add you to groups. Select the option that suits you, like ‘My Contacts’ or ‘My Contacts Except.’ This ensures only trusted people can add you to new groups.

3. Control Personal Information

Under the Privacy section, there’s an option called ‘Control Your Personal Info.’ You can choose who can see your profile photo, last seen, about, and read receipts. It’s better to limit this to ‘My Contacts’ to prevent strangers from viewing your personal details.

4. Protect Your Chats and Account

WhatsApp offers features to protect your data and messages. Go to Settings → Chats → Chat Backup, and enable End-to-End Encrypted Backup for extra security. You can also turn on Two-Step Verification under Account Settings to prevent hackers from accessing your WhatsApp account.

Additionally, use ‘Hide and Lock Chats’ if you want to keep private conversations secure. These features help ensure your personal and professional chats remain safe from intruders.

By activating these privacy tools, you can make your WhatsApp experience safer and stress-free. Stay alert, avoid clicking on suspicious links, and never share personal details with unknown numbers.
