India’s First Smart Glasses with Built-In UPI Payments Launched

Smart Glasses for UPI Payments:

In a revolutionary step toward the future of digital payments, Lenskart has unveiled its new product the “Be Camera Smart Glasses” with built-in UPI payment support. The announcement was made at the Global Fintech Festival 2025 held in Mumbai. These smart glasses are designed to make contactless payments easier and more secure than ever before.

Smart Glasses for UPI Payments:

The highlight of these smart glasses is that users no longer need a mobile phone or PIN to complete transactions. Instead, they can simply scan a QR code using the glasses and confirm the payment through voice commands. Lenskart stated that the glasses connect safely to the user’s bank account, and all transactions are processed using voice-based authentication. This means users don’t have to take out their phones or manually enter passwords while shopping.

The new UPI payment feature is being developed in collaboration with the National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI). Using the UPI Circle technology, payments made through these glasses are highly encrypted and secure. Lenskart assured that privacy and data safety remain their top priorities.

Apart from the UPI feature, the Be Camera Smart Glasses also come with other smart technologies:

A Point-of-View (POV) camera, which records videos from the wearer’s perspective while walking or traveling.
Artificial Intelligence (AI) integration to enhance the user experience and improve device performance.

Experts believe this innovation could change how people use digital payment systems in the coming years. With security, convenience, and cutting-edge design, Lenskart’s smart glasses aim to bridge the gap between fashion and technology.

The company plans to launch these AI-powered smart glasses in the market in the next few months. If successful, this could mark a major technological milestone in India’s fintech and wearable industry.
