Pathirathri Malayalam Movie Review

Pathirathri Malayalam Movie Review

Pathirathri Movie Review: A crime drama that’s not just a conventional investigation. It starts off as a police investigation and becomes a study of human bitter feelings, its invisible pain, its moral tensions. The main cast includes Navya Nair, Soubin Shahir, Anne Augustine, Sunny Wayne, and Harishree Ashokan.

Mostly set in the dark, that is, at nighttime, Pathirathri has an officer, Jancy (Navya Nair) and another officer, Harish (Soubin Shahir) who are of different ranks but share similar emotional baggage. The story raises how the officers deal with crime, considering their mental conditions, while their professional duties are also intertwined with personal struggles.

Crime, Emotion, and Human Connection

Poised at the center of crime thrill with a difference, Pathirathri relishes neither the mystery that one resolves but the study of reasons behind crime and the frail web of bonds that connect individuals. Rathinas family consists of three families caught in unexpected turmoil as portraying how their lives are influenced by neglect, emotional aloofness, and moral choices. People behaviour when in crisis situations along with the demarcation lines that screen right from wrong is also what the film attempts to touch on.

Performances and Technical Brilliance

Navya Nair gives one of her career best performances in this film in the character of Jancy, a police officer who has to grapple with the contradiction of her duty and human emotion. Soubin Shahir is a livewire notes Soubin Shahir, too bringing laudable natural intensity into his role. The screenplay Shaji Maarat balances investigative tension with psychological depths, so each scene is realistic and layered.

The background score by Jakes Bejoy enhances the suspense, and emergency cinematography from Shehnad Jalal captures every scrap of the night’s eeriness. Each frame is drenched in atmosphere and tension.
