Realme, a Chinese smartphone company, recently unveiled two heavyweight smartphones, the GT 8 and GT 8 Pro, both of which prioritize performance above all else. Both smartphones have a range of flagship features, but the two cell phones have distinctive features that set them apart. Your personal preference and budget will determine which is best for you.
Both smartphones come with a big 6.78-inch display. The AMOLED display has a crisp 2K resolution, and a smooth 144Hz refresh rate allows you to scroll through the interface without a hitch. The standard GT 8 has a great design that feels premium and solid in the hand. Alternatively, the GT 8 Pro has a beautiful back that you can customize. The Pro has a camera module that you can swap to change the look of the phone entirely. The Pro model also comes with higher-end features and is a bit heftier due to the thickness of the camera system.
The GT 8 and GT 8 Pro have two of the fastest SoCs on the market. The GT 8 performs with the Snapdragon 8 Elite in the driver’s seat and the GT 8 Pro runs on the newer Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5. The newer Snapdragon is faster, and by extension, the GT 8 Pro is a bit faster than its baseline sibling. Both offer up to 16 GB of RAM, and each can be equipped with up to 1 TB of storage space. The Pro does use the newer UFS 4.1 storage while the baseline uses the UFS 4.0 storage, but either may be satisfactory depending on usage patterns.
Both models have a huge 7,000 mAh battery that will take you through the work day with flying colors. The GT 8 model allows for very fast 100W wired charging and the GT 8 Pro model takes this even further allowing up to 120W wired charging for unprecedented speed and also supports 50W wireless charging as a convenience, which is a major advantage for the Pro.
Camera systems have the biggest difference between the two models. The GT 8 Pro is a photography powerhouse. It is equipped with a 50MP main camera that is tuned by Ricoh and a 200MP telephoto sensor that’s great for zoom. Additionally, it has a 50MP ultrawide lens and a 32MP front camera for selfies. The standard GT 8 has a very capable triple camera as well, with a 50MP main sensor, a 50MP telephoto, and an 8MP ultrawide. The front selfie camera is 16MP.
Lastly, both phones support the latest connectivity standards. They support the next generation of Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 6, and support NFC for contactless payments. Either way, you won’t be disappointed with your connection since there should be no lag, and speed will be comparable or stronger depending on your use case and needs in mind. The Pro typically has the edge in peak specifications.
Buy the realme GT 8 Pro if you want to have the best possible experience. In that case, it would be the right choice for a photography enthusiast. The quicker charging as well as the wireless charging are some of the great things. Also, it is a plus for the Pro that its removable back panel can be used as a kind of accessory. On the other hand, a standard realme GT 8 is what you should go for if you want to get a great deal. What it leaves out and still gives to you in return is a flagship-level experience. You still get amazing battery life and good performance. It can handle games and daily tasks without any problem. Ultimately, it is either the budget or the camera that will decide the matter. Which one of these two will be yours?
