IND W vs AUS W 2025: Will Rain Play Spoilsport in Navi Mumbai?

Women’s World Cup 2025: In today’s second semi-final of the ICC Women’s World Cup 2025, India is going to play against Australia. This match is going to be exciting as this is going to be held in Dr. DY Patil Sports Academy in Navi Mumbai. But the main concern for this match is about the rainfall and weather forecast in Navi Mumbai. If there is bad weather, this might affect the match.

In the first semi-final, which was held in Guwahati, South Africa defeated England and secured their place in the grand championship. The victor of the contest today will play the Proteas in the championship match on November 2nd in Navi Mumbai. However, as rain clouds loom over the city, supporters are now focusing on weather forecasts and tournament regulations rather than squad lineups.

Weather Forecast in Navi Mumbai:
For the past few days, Navi Mumbai’s weather has been fluctuating, and it’s not the perfect match of conditions. As per the weather reports, for the past week, there has been continuous rainfall and bad weather conditions; due to this, some of the places are already flooded. India’s last league match with Bangladesh has been ruined because of rain. The outcome of this has minimal effect on the rankings. As the weather is completely unpredictable right now in Navi Mumbai, the rainfall might affect the match when it’s in the middle overs. According to the Meteorologists, the rain might get intense during the evening as the match gets more intense during those hours. As per the weather reports, there might be 7% possibility of rain today. Players and crew are on the edge of their seats because of the unpredictable weather conditions this month.

What happens if the AUS vs IND Semi-Final 2 gets cancelled?
The International Cricket Council (ICC) has specific rules to guarantee a fair decision to reduce the possibility of an undecided result in a knockout match. The primary objective is always to finish the game on the appointed day. To get the result, every team requires a minimum of 20 overs as per the Duckworth-lewis-stern (DLS). In this way, the game can be shortened even if the team cannot play 50 overs completely.- If the game is not completely done due to weather conditions, there is a reserve day on October 31st, Thursday.
– As per the rules, if the game is not completed before the 50 overs game is not played, the 50 overs match is played on the reserve day.
– The match is continued from the precise moment where it is stopped, which makes the game complete faster than the time scheduled.
– Depending on whether the weather permits play to restart, this strategy guarantees that both sides have every chance to battle for a victory.

For Indian supporters, the most concerning scenario is a total washout on both days. The match will be formally abandoned if the weather stops at least 20 overs per side from being played on both the scheduled and reserve days. The team with the highest group stage ranking in this case advances straight to the final. Regretfully, India finished in fourth place in the league rankings, while Australia was at the top. This implies that Australia will advance to the final without bowling a ball if the rain doesn’t stop.
