OpenAI Offers Free 1 Year Access To ChatGPT Go For Users In India

Free 1 Year Access To ChatGPT:
OpenAI has revealed exciting news for Indian users its subscription tier ChatGPT Go will be available free for one year to anyone who signs up during a limited-time promotional period starting November 4. The company announced this as part of its plans to celebrate the first-ever DevDay Exchange event in Bengaluru highlighting India’s growing role in the global AI landscape.

Free 1 Year Access To ChatGPT:

ChatGPT Go, launched in India in August 2025, was created based on user feedback seeking a more affordable way to access advanced ChatGPT features. This version offers higher message limits, image generation and file upload capabilities, giving users a powerful AI experience without premium costs.

Since its introduction, ChatGPT Go has gained massive popularity in India one of OpenAI’s fastest-growing and second-largest markets. Within a month of its launch, the number of paid ChatGPT subscribers in India more than doubled. Seeing this strong response, OpenAI has expanded ChatGPT Go to nearly 90 countries.

In its official statement, OpenAI said the free access initiative reinforces its “India-first” approach and supports the government’s IndiaAI Mission. The company believes this step will further strengthen the country’s position as a key player in artificial intelligence, especially as India prepares to host the AI Impact Summit next year.

Nick Turley, Vice President and Head of ChatGPT, expressed his appreciation for the creativity and enthusiasm shown by Indian users. “Since launching ChatGPT Go in India, the innovation we’ve seen from users has been inspiring. Ahead of our DevDay Exchange event, we’re making ChatGPT Go freely available for a year to help more people access and benefit from advanced AI,” he said.

Existing ChatGPT Go subscribers in India will also be eligible for this free one-year offer. This move highlights OpenAI’s commitment to making artificial intelligence tools accessible and useful to everyone, especially in a country where millions of students, developers, and professionals rely on AI daily.
