The atmosphere in the trailer is very classic Scream-the introduction shows a couple renting an Airbnb, which turns out to be none other than the infamous house of Stu Macher. The site once notorious for brutal murders has now become an apparent attraction. What seemingly starts as an innocent getaway soon turns into a disastrous affair as the intruding Ghostface makes an appearance and an inventive tense chase begins.
The trailer appears to show Ghostface burning down Stu’s old home, possibly suggesting the franchise’s departure from the previous plots and fan theories that have been around the longest. The movie appears to close the chapter on Stu’s legacy, as Williamson is set to return to the franchise behind the camera with a new, though familiar, vibe.
After many years since the previous killings, we finally get a glimpse into Sidney Prescott’s life. Now married to a cop named Mark in the sleepy little town of Pinerove, Sidney owns a small coffee shop and raises her daughter Tatum, named after her late best friend. However, this bliss doesn’t last long. We see Ghostface haunting her life once again by breaking into her home and threatening the life of her family.
Gale Weathers and the Meeks twins return in the trailer alongside shocking moments like the death of Sidney’s husband and potential Ghostface unmasking mid-film. There is also speculation that Ghostface might be using AI-generated voices to impersonate deceased characters from the franchise, like Dewey Riley and Stu Macher.
Scream 7 promises to tie nostalgia, suspense, and emotional stakes into a trailer. Sidney in the forefront has fans eagerly awaiting to find out if this will be her ultimate showdown with Ghostface-or just the start of a new nightmare.
