OxygenOS 16 with Gemini AI:
OnePlus has given a pleasant surprise to its users by announcing the new OxygenOS 16, just before the official launch of the OnePlus 15, which is scheduled for November 13, 2025. The new OS is built on Android 16 and brings major upgrades in design, security, and AI integration, aiming to offer a smarter and smoother smartphone experience.
The OxygenOS 16 introduces a Material 3 Expressive UX design, which allows users to personalize their phones with creative wallpapers and adaptive colors. The update includes the innovative Mind Plus feature, powered by Google Gemini AI, which can temporarily record screen activities, including screenshots, to help users track and manage their tasks efficiently.
The system also offers an improved Fluid User Interface, ensuring smoother transitions and expressive animations while switching between apps. The update highlights a range of AI-powered tools, including:
AI VoiceScribe for easy voice-to-text conversion
AI Writer for smart content creation
AI Scan Better for document enhancement
AI Portrait Glow for better photos
AI Perfect Shot for improved image capturing
In terms of security, OnePlus has introduced the OS Plus Lock, which provides 11-layer encryption to keep user data more secure. Another key highlight is improved phone-to-PC connectivity, allowing seamless file transfers between devices without cables.
The rollout of OxygenOS 16 will begin with OnePlus 13, 13s, 13R, and OnePlus Open models, followed by a wider release for older devices such as OnePlus 12, 12R, 11, 11R, 10 Pro, Nord 5, Nord CE 5, Nord 4, Nord 3, Nord CE 4, Nord CE 4 Lite, Pad 3, Pad 2, and Pad Lite.
With OxygenOS 16, OnePlus continues to blend technology with simplicity, delivering powerful performance with AI-driven convenience for all users.
