The app now includes a number of smart features. Photo-First Search, for example, displays photos of locations submitted by users from around the world. Another interesting feature is Live View, which uses your camera to provide directions and displays your arrows and other instructions in real time.
AI Object Recognition is yet another feature of Google Maps that helps identify places to visit nearby by showing you their names and providing information about them.
You can ask questions in everyday language, and the app gives you personalized suggestions. It can help you find restaurants or plan all sorts of trips. Another very useful option is the Flight Tracking tool, which allows you to view flight schedules and compare prices. All of these features can enhance your travel plans.
To start downloading offline maps, follow these simple steps before your trip. First, open the Google Maps app; and be sure your phone is connected to the internet. Be sure not to be in Incognito Mode on Google Maps. Next tap on the icon with your profile picture or initials in the upper corner, then tap on ‘Offline Maps.’ Next you’ll tap on ‘Select Your Own Map.’
A blue box will show up on your screen. You may move and resize the box if you wish. Select the desired area you wish to save. Tap the ‘Download’ button at the bottom. Your map will be saved in the Offline Maps section. You can now view it offline.
