WhatsApp is introducing a new feature called Strict Account Settings to improve user security. The company is testing this feature on iOS beta for selected users. This update aims to stop hacking and reduce online fraud.

As per WABetaInfo, the new Strict Account Settings option appears under Privacy > Advanced in WhatsApp settings. Once it is turned on, the account becomes more secure with multiple safety layers. It is mainly designed for users who are more likely to face hacking or cyberattacks.

When activated, the mode automatically blocks unknown numbers from sending media, attachments, or messages. It also prevents strangers from making calls or changing account settings. WhatsApp said enabling this feature might slightly affect message or call quality, but it offers stronger safety.

Main Benefits of Strict Mode:

1.Blocks unknown callers automatically.

2.Allows only saved contacts to add you to group chats.

3.Turn off link previews for extra privacy.

4.Enables two-step verification by default.

5.Alerts users if encryption codes change.

6.Hides profile photo and details from unknown numbers.

Many of these security tools are already available in WhatsApp. But now, with the Strict Account Settings feature, all these settings can be enabled at once with a single tap.
