300 Kg of Explosives Still Missing: Is India Still Under Threat?

Delhi Car Bomb Blast: In the Delhi car bomb blast case, there are still missing points that have not been addressed yet. About 300 kg of ammonium nitrate is reportedly still missing from India. Approximately 2,900 kg of the explosive material have been found by the police in several locations as part of the Faridabad terror module investigation. But the entire shipment is still unaccounted for, which has caused major security issues in a number of states.

Delhi Car Bomb Blast is Not Fully Neutralized:
According to media sources, tracking down and recovering the 300 kilograms of ammonium nitrate that went missing and identifying who is currently in control of it are security authorities’ top priorities right now. Nearly three tons of the explosive have been found by authorities thus far in several hiding places. Officials, however, think that other parts are still hidden in unidentified places, and they are already conducting nationwide raids to find them. The situation “is not fully safe yet,” according to an official with knowledge of the probe, and the agencies are on high alert to stop any possible use of the leftover material.

From where did Explosives enter India?
According to reports, investigators discovered that the shipment of ammonium nitrate reached India via Bangladesh and Nepal. The material was allegedly stolen by the detained terrorists from a fertilizer firm and smuggled across the border. A total of 3,200 kg of the explosive was reportedly smuggled into India, according to sources, leading authorities to send out alerts along the whole route.

High Alert in Varanasi and Ayodhya After Delhi Bomb Blast:
According to preliminary investigations, the terrorists’ module that was apprehended had planned assaults on prominent and sacred locations in Uttar Pradesh, including Varanasi and Ayodhya. According to reports, a sleeper module in Ayodhya was activated by Dr. Shahin, one of the accused who is currently in detention, to facilitate the plan. In addition to these cities, they were also aware of the Red Fort, India Gate, Constitution Club, Gauri Shankar Temple, important train terminals, and retail centers. As per the media reports, the organization has been planning coordinated assaults like to the 26/11 Mumbai attacks from January 2025.

High Alert in All States:

It is also revealed by the investigators that the module intended to put together more than 200 high-intensity IEDs that would be detonated concurrently in Delhi, Gurugram, and Faridabad. According to police, the goal was to target populated and sacred places to cause broad chaos and instability in society.
To track down the missing explosives and find any sleeper cells connected to the module, security officials are currently conducting coordinated searches across several states. As per the media reports, the network had extensive connections throughout northern India, including cross-border smuggling routes. Fearing that the leftover ammonium nitrate could be used for another significant terror attempt, authorities have increased security at religious institutions and vital installations.
