Hridhu Haroon- the south Indian young actor is now seen as one of the most exciting young talents of recent times in the Indian cinema industry. He was born on June 29, 2001, in Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala. His non-conventional way of getting into acting has made him popular, alongside his screen presence. After pursuing studies at the University of Pennsylvania in the U.S., the all-important move of risking it all by returning to India and pursuing film seems to have started paying off handsomely.
Hridhu has made a vibrant filmography over these last few years with movies in Malayalam, Tamil, and Hindi cinema. His movies—Crash Course, Mumbaikar, Thugs, Muraa, Dude, and Bad Girl—allowed him to establish a foothold among some of the modern-day performers in the business. It was, though, for All We Imagine as Light that brought him to prominence. Winning the Grand Prix at the Cannes Film Festival in 2024 allowed for global exposure, and some critics noted Hridhu’s grounded performance separate from that of his co-stars.
Some viewers believe his performance in Maine Pyar Kiya is among his weaker efforts, yet they also appreciate his powerful onscreen presence in Muraa and other current releases. His rising fan base contends that Hridhu often chooses youth romances or movies featuring powerful female co-leads, a tendency that has thus far benefited him.
Although Hridhu was born to the famous Malayalam film producer Shibu Thameens and naturally linked with the strikingly positive ‘nepo kid’ tag, both critics and viewers agree that he has shown some skills and real hard work in the performances presented. Not wishing to depend solely on the family name, Hridhu seems to want to support work following work with convincing performances in difficult parts.
With a few projects coming up, Hridhu Haroon is on course to be among the leading youthful actors in the South Indian film industry. He stands every probability of charting a path to a long and successful career as long as he continues to consciously select great parts and keep working the midnight oil.
