Eko Movie Review: Kishkindha Kandam’s creators come back with yet another compelling film, creating a film loaded with details, atmosphere, and emotional depth. Eko, their new film, is already garnering good word of mouth in Kerala, indicating that it may turn out to be its critical and commercial success after the First Day First Show.
Once again, Bahul Ramesh has proven his talent as a writer with a screenplay that is wonderfully detailed and tightly constructed. The film commences with deadly precision, thus engaging the viewer from the outset. It tracks Kuriachan’s layered and enigmatic history, a character loaded with mystery, whose journey lies at the heart of the film.
While certain plot points might seem a little familiar, how they revealed the twist whenever a twist came, kept the tension alive and engaged. Each twist was placed at a particular moment, leading toward a fiery climax that was very fulfilling.
Director Dinjith Ayyathan’s handling is very gripping and keeps the film on track, discarding unnecessary distractions. His command over mood, suspense, and character dynamics elevates this material, representing a filmmaker totally in control.
Sandeep delivers what can be considered his best performance yet, with conviction in portraying the various shades of his character. The equally competent supporting cast greatly adds to the film’s immersive experience.
Technically, the film stands out for its composition of shots and atmospheric tone. Each shot is deliberate, careful, and beautifully composed. Mujeeb’s music elevates the prospect, matching the narrative and propelling the emotional currents.
Following the positive reaction to the film on its Kerala FDFS, Eko does seem to be another major success on the way for Dinjith Ayyathan and Bahul Ramesh. Their creative chemistry shines through yet once again, giving viewers the experience of a film that is both entertaining and a work of art.
