New Android Virus Creates Panic Among Smartphone Users

New Android Virus:
A new and dangerous Android malware named Sturnus is creating fear among smartphone users. Cyber security researchers have warned that this malware mainly targets banking apps and can steal sensitive information such as login details, passwords, and even private chat messages. This has become a major concern because many people use their phones daily for online banking and secure communication.
New Android Virus:
According to security reports, Sturnus works like a banking trojan. It creates fake login pages that look exactly like real banking app screens. When users enter their username and password on these fake pages, the details are quickly sent to cyber criminals. This allows hackers to access bank accounts and perform fraud transactions without the user’s knowledge.

What makes Sturnus more dangerous is its ability to read encrypted chats. Even though apps like WhatsApp, Telegram, and Signal provide end-to-end encryption, this malware can still capture messages. It does not break the encryption directly. Instead, it uses screen capture techniques to read messages after they are decrypted on the phone screen. This means private conversations can be monitored silently.

Researchers have also found that Sturnus has remote access features. Hackers can control the infected phone, monitor user activity in real time, block the screen, and carry out fake transactions in the background. This level of control turns the phone into a tool for cyber crime.

The first cases of this malware were found in Southern and Central Europe. Experts say it is still in the early development stage, but its impact is already visible. They fear that if not stopped, it could spread to other regions and affect a large number of users in the future.

Google has not yet released a specific security patch to fix this issue. So, users are advised to stay alert. Avoid downloading apps from unknown sources, do not click on suspicious links, and regularly update your phone’s software. Using strong passwords and enabling two-factor authentication can also add extra safety.
