2026 Public Holidays:
The Central Government has officially released the holiday list for the year 2026. This announcement is very important for parents, students, and employees who are already planning their trips, family functions, and personal activities for the coming year. Compared to the current year, the number of holidays in 2026 is higher, which has brought happiness to many people.
According to the new holiday calendar, there will be 14 compulsory holidays and 12 optional holidays throughout the year. August is also a festive month with Independence Day, Milad-un-Nabi, Onam, and Raksha Bandhan. In September, Janmashtami and Vinayaka Chavithi holidays are approved.
October will have Gandhi Jayanti and Dussehra holidays, and schools may get extended holidays during this period. November will include Diwali, Chhath Puja, and Guru Nanak Jayanti. Finally, December will end with Christmas on the 25th, which is a major holiday for both schools and offices.
In addition to these, there will be 52 Sundays and 12 second Saturdays throughout the year. Altogether, students may enjoy nearly 100 days of holidays in 2026. This is great news for families who like to travel or spend time together during breaks.
