Vinayakan, the well-known Malayalam actor, has effectively made a name for himself as a breakout star in Jailer thanks to his strong screen presence and the now-famous catchphrase “Manassilaayo Saare?” He has now confirmed that he will be a part of Jailer 2 also. The actor further verified that his character in the follow-up would mostly be flashbacks, hence providing the audience more of a character masterfully presented in the first movie.
Many admirers believe Vinayakan’s performance in Jailer was excellent and he matched Rajinikanth in terms of star presence. Though in the historical and not in the current timeline, the actor has confirmed his character would come for the sequel. Vinayakan will be highlighted in much-critical flashbacks, then, growing towards the narrative of Jailer 2.
Under Nelson’s direction, Jailer 2 concluded its first calendar in Attapadi, Palakkad once again. For shooting several important scenes, the team has also relocated to Kozhikode. Though no formal statement has been made yet, reports claim Vijay Sethupathi will also be joining the cast.
In this follow-up, Rajinikanth will reprise Muthuvel Pandian-the character that helped the first movie to worldwide renown. Released in 2023, Jailer made over ₹600 crores globally. Fans have been constantly looking forward any news of this much awaited sequel ever since.
Jailer 2 was officially revealed on January 14 along with a promo video; filming began in March.
Among Malayali supporters, the most common theory has been whether Jailer would have a sequel featuring Mohanlal’s Matthew, who was introduced as a potent don. Recent data show that he will certainly be in Jailer 2 and is expected to start filming shortly.
Already being discussed as among the most anticipated Tamil releases vying for next year, Jailer 2 features Anirudh Ravichander as music director and even more spectacular action scenes.
