Dhurandhar Day 1 Collection: The film Dhurandhar has had an excellent first day at the Indian box office, with ₹27 crore net on opening Day 1 (1st Friday). The film’s big opening has made it part of the biggest mass bloodshed of the quarter, echoing a lot of noise and hype before release and aggressive promotions, and having strong single screens that will have sound action in the film. Pre-release hysteria helped add momentum to Dhurandhar in major mass belts: action-heavy narratives in star-driven packaging.
Widespread release in India, especially in Tier-2 and Tier-3 circuits, where mass cinema thrives. Heavy occupancy was seen in early morning shows. Evening shows performed even much better due to positive word of mouse surrounding the action scenes and lead performances. Moderately low numbers were reported from multiplexes, while single screens accounted for a larger share of the Day 1 earnings.
Adding to this was the festive weekend, along with very little competition, which resulted in boosting footfalls. Advance booking was sending clear signals of a strong interest from the audience for the movie and assured a good start.
These days’ figures are really great. Still, the main challenge for a movie is to recover the huge budget. Estimates show that the production + marketing budget in question would be in the range of ₹150–160 crores for Dhurandhar, based on industry trackers.
To break even, the film has to earn a worldwide figure that crosses ₹175 crores. This amount would also cover the cost of recovering the distributor shares and marketing expenses while ensuring profitable returns for the stakeholders. Therefore, it becomes easy to see why crossing ₹25 crores a day through the weekend will improve the chances for this film significantly.
The early trends, however, are promising. If word of mouth remains stable and sustained growth is witnessed over the weekend, Dhurandhar now has a real chance to walk into hit territory.

However, the long-term success of the film depends on weekday hold, competition with other new releases coming up, and audiences’ reception in urban segments.
For now, Dhurandhar has delivered a power-packed Day 1, and now it can face the opening weekend.
