Authorities have confirmed this closure to allow smooth voting.

In Telangana, the situation is different. Panchayat elections are taking place in phases. Many government schools are being used as polling centers, and teachers are on election duty. Because of this, some schools may remain closed today based on local decisions. However, there is no full statewide holiday announcement yet, and students are advised to check with their school management.

In Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, and coastal Andhra Pradesh, some areas are still facing rain and strong winds due to the after-effects of the cyclone. There is no statewide holiday, but in a few districts, schools may allow late entry or partial holidays depending on weather conditions.

In Jammu and Kashmir, several schools in hilly regions are already closed because of severe cold and snowfall. Winter safety rules are in effect, and schools in affected areas will remain closed for a few more days to protect students from extreme weather.

In Delhi, today is not a holiday. However, winter vacation for schools is expected to start from December 23, 2025, and continue till early January 2026.
