Sanya Malhotra’s film Mrs is now streaming on OTT. After watching the film you may feel, what’s new in it? You have seen this story every day in your homes, starting from the Malayalam blockbuster – The Great Indian Kitchen. But these kind of stories are needed to change the society. Now Sanya Malhotra came forward with a unique common household story. Let’s take a look at the detailed review of Mrs Movie.
When The Great Indian Kitchen was released four years ago, this film written and directed by Jeo Baby opened many eyes. Cinema lovers watched it, but this film will reach the Hindi heartland now – in Hindi – with Mrs. Annu Singh Chaudhary, Harman Baweja and Aarti Kadav, who are also the directors of Mrs, have made some changes to the story of Jeo Baby. For example, the husband of the main character is a male gynaecologist in Mrs instead of a teacher, who understands the diseases of women’s bodies but is unable to understand the illness of his wife’s mind.
In this doctor family masquerading as a modern family, looking at Diwakar, you cannot even understand that even though he looks like a modern thinker, in reality he is just like his retired doctor dad, who uses his wife to do household chores, cook food, clean and satisfy his need. Then he understands that this is how the life of women goes on in the house. Since his mother has been doing all this without saying anything, his wife should do the same.
Aarti Kadav presents the story of The Great Indian Kitchen with a character, which is effective. Yes, more work could have been done in it in terms of songs. The background score is fine. But the set-up of a middle-class family and the cinematography from the kitchen to the inside of the house is good. From Richa’s dancing talent to Sanya Malhotra’s expressions, everything is great. Nishant Dahiya has also done his part well. But the way Kanwaljit Singh has played the role of the father-in-law with old-school treatment behind the modern image has increased the intensity of Mrs.
Mrs is not a feel-good film, but an important film, which should be watched on the weekend with mother, wife, sister, aunt… every woman in the house, as a token of appreciation and gratitude for their 24 X 7 unpaid job.
