Check PF Balance Easily:
Most employees working in the private sector have a Provident Fund (PF) account. This account is managed by the Employees’ Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO) and is one of the most important social security schemes offered by the central government. Every month, 12% of your salary is deposited into your PF account. Your company also deposits the same amount. A major part of the employer’s contribution goes to the Employees’ Pension Scheme (EPS), and the remaining amount is added to your PF balance. At the end of every financial year, the government also adds interest to your PF account. For the last financial year, the interest rate is 8.25%.
Many people check their PF balance once in a while, but it is important to check it regularly. This helps you confirm whether your company is depositing money on time and whether interest has been added or not. There are many simple ways to check your PF balance.
One of the easiest methods is visiting the EPFO website. After opening the site, you can log in using your UAN and password. Under the “View” section, you can click on “Passbook” to see your total PF contribution, employer’s contribution, and interest updates.
You can also check your PF balance through the UMANG app. Download the app, log in using your registered mobile number, and select the EPFO option. After entering the UAN and OTP, you can see your PF passbook anytime.
If you do not have internet access, you can still check your PF balance. Just give a missed call to 9966044425 from your mobile number that is linked with your UAN. If your UAN is connected to your bank account, Aadhaar, and PAN, you will receive an SMS with your latest PF contribution and total balance.
Another quick method is SMS. Send EPFOHO UAN to 7738299899 from your registered mobile number. Replace “UAN” with your actual UAN number. Within a few seconds, you will receive a message with your PF details.
These simple methods make it easy for every employee to stay updated about their PF savings without any difficulty.
