Diwali Box Office 2025:
This Diwali, four Telugu films Mithra Mandali, Dude, Telusu Kada, and K-Ramp released in theatres as a festive treat for audiences. These movies hit both Indian and overseas screens, including the crucial North American market. However, none of them managed to receive an outstanding response. All four opened to mixed reviews, leading to slower-than-expected advance bookings.
The first release of the week was Mithra Mandali, which hit theatres on October 16. Despite decent expectations, the film collected only around $47,000 from its premieres and opening day. Its break-even target is said to be $300,000, which now seems challenging unless it performs well over the weekend.
Following that, Dude and Telusu Kada released together on October 17. Among the two, Telusu Kada opened with better numbers, grossing approximately $187,000. Still, with a break-even mark of $1.5 million, the film has a long way to go to reach safe territory. Without a significant jump in collections, it may end up facing losses.
Meanwhile, K-Ramp, which released on October 18, received a mixed response from audiences. While expectations were high before release, social media reviews have been divided. Some centres are showing decent occupancy, but the overall numbers are yet to be revealed.
Interestingly, Dude is performing slightly better than the other three films in North America. Including premieres and opening day, it collected around $330,000. The film’s break-even target stands at $2.3 million. Though advance bookings are moderate, the movie can still gain momentum if post-release promotions pick up pace.
Overall, the Diwali 2025 weekend saw a clash of multiple Telugu films overseas, but none emerged as a clear winner. The next few days will decide which of these movies can recover their costs and enter the profit zone.
