Param Sundari Box Office Collections: Will it Break Even or Stay in Loss?

Param Sundari Box Office Collections: Will it Break Even or Stay in Loss?

Param Sundari Box Office Collections: Like the star power and music of Bollywood’s latest release Param Sundari, its road to recovery from the mind-boggling ₹60 crore budget is the question too. Let us dissect its four-day performance and predict its future.

Opening Weekend Collections

The film got a decent number on Day 1 (Friday) when it raked in ₹7.25 crore. On Day 2 (Saturday), collections rose impressively by 27.59% to collect ₹9.25 crore. The momentum was carried over on Day 3 (Sunday) with ₹10.45 crore (rough data), marking another growth of 12.97%.

The first weekend of Param Sundari saw the gross of ₹26.95 crore, an average amount for a film, however, it displayed a strong inclination of audience interest, especially in urban centers.

The Sudden Drop on Day 4

Yet the film went downhill the moment word got out on Monday (Day 4) after collecting a woeful ₹0.05 crore. Such a drop indicates poor word of mouth or an audience clearly once the good word went around.

Comparing with the Budget

Made at a production cost of ₹60 crore, the film has collected a mere ₹27 crore in the first four days, which is still less than half of its budget. To recover, Param Sundari would need to earn at least ₹5-6 crore daily over the next 7 days. Considering the Monday crash, this seems despairingly unlikely.

Future Prospects

The following weekdays are going to be crucial for the film. Unless it stabilizes with some steady collections, it runs the risk of being labeled a box office failure. Satellite rights and deals related to music and digital streaming deals could ease the pain; however, theatrical success for the film looks doubtful.

Having started Param Sundari promisingly over the weekend, such a sharp fall does not inspire confidence for the film’s path ahead. Unless either word-of-mouth improves or it gets a welcome boost from festival holidays, it may not stand a chance of scrapping together its ₹60 crore budget and could find itself in trouble theatrically.
